I love wildflowers. From the first violet that pops through in the spring, to the last goldenrod before frost, I photograph them, pick them, and love them. Even when the snow covers Iowa, I can picture the flowers sleeping and waiting for spring.
The spring, summer, and fall cycle of flowers reminds me of God's promise to Noah after the flood: While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, And cold and heat, And summer and winter, And day and night, Shall not cease. Genesis 8:22
We have seasons in our lives, too. Cycles of joy and mourning, successes and failures, health and sickness. Whatever season you are in right now, I hope there are some wildflowers along the way. Stop and enjoy them, because you have God's promise there will be a new day, your season will fold into another, and He holds your hand on this wonderful journey of life.
