This corn field was disked this week, turning old cornstalks under. Within a few days, at just the right time, the planter will turn the soil up and deposit either soy bean or corn seed.
I'm in a time of preparation, too. I have three completed manuscripts that I want to submit to publishers. I'm going to the Write To Publish conference in June. But first the tedious editing, reediting, and editing again. Then the introductory materials: query letters, synopses, and proposals.
Sometimes I'm like a child watching the cupcakes in the oven. "I can't wait, I want to eat mine now!"
God sends us through many seasons of preparation. They're the quiet times, the waiting times. Sometimes we're impatient, we want to plant the seed now! We want to have a publisher now! We want _____ now!
But if we trust Him, and wait on Him, we have the promise of a great harvest. What are you preparing for? Are you waiting for God's perfect timing?
"Those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength, they will mount up with wings like eagles." Isaiah 40:31
