You see Molly's former life, her months of living under a porch and not knowing where her next meal was coming from, has given her some interesting dietary habits. When we go for a walk Molly tries to ingest anything and everything. She will eat sticks, plants, bones, fur, feathers, and yes, even the droppings the deer leave behind.
I am continually grabbing her, prying open her mouth to pull out whatever disgusting thing she is trying to swallow, and shouting, "No, Molly. Don't eat poop!"
Do you have a former life? The years before you belonged to Christ and were committed to Him? What do you still try to ingest? Paperbacks that don't edify? Websites you visit secretly? TV or movies that are questionable?
Molly isn't nourished by what she grabs from the field on a walk, and it may even make her sick. When we read or listen or view trash, it doesn't nourish us either.
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about (read, listen, view) such things." Philippians 4:8
Don't make God shout at you, "Don't eat poop!"
